We love Pinterest.

Seriously. Bring us the screenshots. Bring us the saved boards. Bring us the photo you've had saved on your phone for two years that you swear is exactly what you want.

Inspiration photos are one of the best ways to show us your style.

But there is one tiny catch...

Pinterest doesn't know the size of your bathroom. 😂

“I Want THIS Shower.”

We hear this all the time—and we love it!

Then we look at the inspiration photo and see a giant walk-in shower, a freestanding tub, a double vanity, a makeup area and enough open floor space to do a cartwheel.

Meanwhile, we're working with a 5' × 8' bathroom.

Don't worry. That doesn't mean your dream bathroom isn't happening.

It just means we need to figure out what you love about that picture and find a way to make it work in your space.

Maybe it's the tile.

Maybe it's the colors.

Maybe it's the big glass shower.

Maybe it's the warm wood vanity with gold fixtures.

That's where the fun starts.

That Freestanding Tub Needs Room 🛁

Freestanding tubs are gorgeous.

But the pretty Pinterest picture doesn't always show you how much space there is around that tub—or how you're supposed to clean behind it.

Sometimes a traditional tub makes more sense. Sometimes removing the tub completely and creating a larger shower makes more sense.

And sometimes the room is big enough to have both.

The goal isn't to cram everything from the inspiration photo into your bathroom.

It's to create a bathroom that feels just as good.

Yes, We Need to Talk About the Shower Door 🚿

Here's something that isn't nearly as exciting to save on Pinterest:

Door clearance.

Where does the shower door open?

Will it hit the vanity?

Is the toilet in the way?

Can you comfortably get in and out?

The prettiest bathroom in the world isn't much fun if you're doing a gymnastics routine every morning just to get into the shower.

Pretty Tile Has a Practical Side, Too

We LOVE a gorgeous tile.

But before choosing one based solely on a picture, there are a few other things to consider.

Where is it being used? Is it appropriate for a shower floor? How much maintenance does it require? What grout color will work with it? Is it going to be slippery when wet?

And one of the biggest questions:

What is it going to look like across an entire room instead of one perfectly styled Pinterest photo?

That's where material selections and design planning really matter.

“But I Want It Exactly Like the Picture!”

We can absolutely use the picture as inspiration.

But your bathroom has its own dimensions, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, ceiling height and layout.

And—you knew this one was coming—budget matters too.

Sometimes we can recreate almost the entire look.

Other times, we might say:

"Okay, here's what you love about this bathroom. Now let's figure out how to get that same feeling in your space."

And honestly?

Those are often our favorite projects.

You don't need to know the name of the tile.

You don't need to know what style the vanity is.

You don't even need to know why you like the picture.
